New Avatar 2.0

Post by Live Lounge Newshound Wed Aug 18, 2010 12:43 pm

So Kinect is set to not only revolutionize the way you interact with your Xbox, but also the look of your current avatar.

OXM has been talking to Rare (the guys who designed the Avatar programme), who said that they’ll be more realistic and “essentially Avatar 2.0” with more realistic proportions. This is because players were having trouble with hand-eye co-ordination whilst using the current-look Avatars, relating to “player perception.”
There’s no mention of whether all Avatars will have the makeover – or just those whose real-life counterparts have Kinect hooked up to their consoles – of if they’ll keep the cartoon-esque charm we’ve all come to know and love, but we sure hope they don’t end up looking like a bunch of PlayStation Home rejects.
Expect more details to surface as Kinect’s 10th November launch looms nearer.

It would be so good if they brought out a dashboard game for the avatars where you can visit somebody elses house etc, it would e a great thing for friends to do.

PS3 already has something similar and microsoft should think about making it part of the xbox 360 console
